A door that's grinding, sagging, or refusing to close isn't a weekend project — it's a call to 5 Star Garage Door Service, and a technician who diagnoses the cause before touching a wrench.
We built our Garage Door Repair service around Akron, NY customers who need a specialist, not a generalist working outside their depth.
We'd rather send one truck that's actually equipped for garage door repair than three that aren't, even if it means a slightly longer wait on a rare occasion.
Technicians walk the full door system on every Akron, NY call rather than swapping the first worn part they see.
Rollers, hinges, cables, and common hardware ride on the truck, so most Akron, NY repairs finish in one visit.
The price we quote in Akron, NY is the number on the final invoice.
Insurance protects your Akron, NY property in the rare event something goes sideways.
Worn nylon or steel rollers cause most of the grinding noise homeowners report — we match replacements to your door's weight and usage.
A track bumped by a car or warped by age throws the whole door out of alignment — bent sections get straightened and the door is re-tested through a full cycle.
Frayed lift cables are a safety issue, not a cosmetic one — we replace them before they snap under tension.
A dented panel from a backed-into car doesn't always mean a full replacement — matching panels are sourced when the model allows.
Cracked bottom seals and worn weatherstripping let in water and pests — a gap under the door is often just worn stripping, not a structural problem.
An unbalanced door strains the opener motor and shortens its lifespan — rebalancing after any repair is standard practice, not an upsell.

A stocked Akron, NY truck heads your way, usually with a same-day arrival window.
We diagnose the actual cause and explain the fix in plain terms before quoting.
{Work is completed and tested through a full cycle before we call the job finished.|We verify safety function and smooth operation before asking for your sign-off.|Workmanship is backed by our guarantee, not just a handshake.}
"""Second opinion after another company quoted a full door replacement. Turned out to be a $60 fix."""
"""Door was grinding for weeks before I finally called. Turned out to be two rollers and a loose hinge — fixed in under an hour."""
"""They caught a fraying cable I didn't even know was a problem while fixing the noise I called about."""
"""Panel got dinged backing out the car. They matched it instead of trying to sell me a new door."""
"""Explained the actual cause before quoting anything. No pressure, just information."""
We charge a standard inspection fee that's waived if you approve the repair.
It can also indicate a bent track catching the roller on every pass.
Structural damage beyond the panel itself sometimes changes the recommendation, but we'll say so plainly.
Same-day service is standard for most Akron, NY addresses, subject to current dispatch volume.
If a repair gets you several more years of reliable use, that's what we'll recommend.
